Corrections Policy

We check every article before it goes live — specs against the manufacturer, prices against two to four Australian retailers. But we’re human, prices move overnight, manufacturers quietly revise spec sheets, and dates slip. When something’s wrong on our site, we’d rather hear about it than miss it. This page explains exactly what happens when you tell us.

How to report an error

Email contact@itsreleased.org with three things:

  • The URL of the article with the error.
  • What’s wrong, and what the correct information is.
  • A source for the correction if you have one — a retailer listing or manufacturer page works perfectly. A screenshot never hurts either.

What happens after you report

We check every report, usually within a couple of business days. If you’re right, we update the article — and price errors jump the queue, because a wrong price can cost someone real money.

For significant factual fixes, we add a short dated note to the article saying what changed. You’ll never have to wonder whether what you’re reading was quietly rewritten. Small typos and formatting slips, we just fix without the fanfare.

What counts as a correction

Facts. Prices, specifications, dates, names, availability — if it’s verifiable and it’s wrong, we’ll correct it. That’s the whole job of this policy.

What doesn’t count

Opinions. If we reckon a $2,000 robot vacuum is poor value and you disagree, that’s a fair debate — not an error. Send us your argument anyway via the Contact page; genuinely good ones shape how we cover things next time.

Common questions

How long do corrections take?

Most are reviewed within a couple of business days. Price errors are treated as urgent and fixed first.

Will readers be told an article was corrected?

For significant factual changes, yes — a short dated correction note is added to the article. Minor typos are fixed without a note.

I reported an error but nothing changed. Why?

Either we couldn’t verify the correction from a reliable source, or it turned out to be a matter of opinion rather than fact. If you have a stronger source, send it — we’ll look again.

Do you pay for error reports?

No, but you have our genuine thanks. Readers who catch our mistakes make the site better for everyone.
